How I counteract writing-related fears

When it comes to writing, I am never alone. And I don’t mean that I always have a cat nearby.

I mean that my fears are there. The big ones, like fear of being seen, fear of making mistakes and fear of not being good enough.

To counteract them, there’s basically only one tool you need. One simple thing that makes looking through them easier.

That tool is having faith.

Having faith that what you write is good enough, that you are learning, that you are becoming a better writer just by letting the words come. It is having faith in yourself. In you as a writer.

That faith is hard too, but not writing is even harder. To me it is worse to end a day without words. So even if it is a struggle at times, I keep having faith that I will do and be better.
