Finding Stillness – Moments

Finding Stillness is a weekly series on ways I find stillness without meditating. Follow the tag to read the other posts.

(This post was supposed to go up on Sunday, but I guess this moment is the best one for it ?)

The other day I sat in the bath and drank my tea. I first smelled it, taking in its gorgeous spicy smell, and then I took a sip, leaned back and smiled.

In that simple moment, just my tea, bath and me, I found stillness.

When I realized that, I started to make more moments mindful. For instance, I found stillness while I worked on my bullet journal, just adding and checking off things, and when I practiced playing my ukulele.

It is such a simple technique too, just breathe, focus on what you are doing with all your attention, and be.

It helps me when I am not feeling well, too. Just a simple moment like while playing a simple game brings me to the stillness I so need at that time.
