lessons from my home

This post isn’t about minimalism and yet it is, to me, very minimalist.
It is about focusing on what brings joy within the challenges of a home.
In our case, we have a three floor home and that gives its own set of problems. The main one is that I have to decide what lives where.
In the case of art supplies that means I have multiples of my favorite supplies, one set in a bag that I carry between the two top floors.
That means that on days I can’t go to my office because of health issues I can still make art.
Having only my favorite art supplies with me means that I am extra conscious of what I own and very discerning of the other art supplies I have in my office.
This makes focusing on what brings me joy even easier than I expected.
In this way, the house has become a teacher. Isn’t that awesome?
