For the past year or so, I have written a daily list of five things I am grateful for in my journal.
I make it into a ritual, writing only after I sit down, take a couple of breaths and then grab my pen.
It is such a wonderful way to celebrate self-care. I often include that I am grateful for my health, or for certain aspects of my health. I write how grateful I am that I was brave enough to go to the dentist, or how grateful I am for pain meds.
It is a moment of awareness of everything that goes on inside of you when you write your list of things you are grateful for.
I have definitely noticed a change in me ever since I started to keep these gratitude lists.
I have become more aware of what is good in my life, and I have become more positive as a result.
