Move through pain with gratitude

I suffer from chronic pain. It is usually in a “manageable” stage but at times the pain flares.
The way I deal with this pain has drastically changed.
I focus on gratitude. I make a daily list of things I am grateful for in my journal. When I am in pain, I read through those lists, or make a new one. Focusing on gratitude is such a healing experience.
The most important change is that it takes the anger away. The fact that I am in pain doesn’t change who I am, deep inside. I can still create, within the boundaries my pain sets.
And that is gorgeous.
