Finding Stillness: Walking

This past week, the weather has been so bad, that I haven’t walked as much as I would want to. I have done indoor exercises, on my WII fit for instance, but no walking in my favorite local spot: the park across the street.

Walking is a moment to be present, completely aware of where I put my foot next, which curve of the road I follow, all is decided one step at a time.

And walking in nature engages all senses. The nose smells spring in the air, the ears hear birdsong… Everything in me is engaged in the moment. Present.

In this way, walking isn’t exercise. It’s stillness in movement.
