A month of not spending

In January, I haven’t spent a dime on wants. I didn’t buy books, a new fountain pen, stationery items, new yarn nor some art supplies. None of it.

I won’t say it was easy. It wasn’t. Sometimes I filled a whole shopping cart and then abandoned it.

I have started to keep a list in my Google Keep of all sorts of things that I wanted to buy and didn’t.

I wonder if I still want to have them in 30 days 🙂

It has been a great lesson in self awareness. I found that I am mostly inclined to impulse buying when I feel sad, for instance.

This has reaffirmed my chosen path of Joyful Minimalism.

I did use a lot of the art supplies I have to create pages in my latest art journal, and used some in ways I hadn’t thought about, because I couldn’t buy the things I wanted to have 🙂

I am going to continue this no-spend journey in February, and that may be a tough one, as one of my favorite authors publishes a book this month 🙂
