Knitting is one of my greatest treasures. I have a hard time getting my mind to shut up, but it does when I knit.
Knitting becomes extra special when I use my own yarns, spun up on one of my spindles. I love to create all these wonky fibers and then, when they are all finished, knit them up into something simple.
This is a picture of what will be the top half of a floor pillow. It is so beautiful in person, and it was a delight to make.
When I see it, I feel both joyful at all the color and when I touch it I feel calm, as if I knit my stillness into the fabric I created.
And that is a wonderful, joyful gift of the treasure that is Knitting.
