Docile

Krrrrr-tsch waited for the speech to end and he would finally hold the award for Best Martian Scientist in his claws. His chest swelled with pride at the applause whenever the presenter mentioned his name. He deserved the cheers, of course.

Ever since he’d invented Humaway, the human slaves were so docile and so well behaved. They did their work and even smiled when they were corrected harshly, and promised to do better the next day. If they weren’t docile enough he could always give them an extra dose of Humaway. They’d invariably turn into despondent creatures, obedient and will-less.

No loss though, the sewers needed cleaning too.
