My Journal

My journal is my playground

Wild written words find their way
Onto paper and I
I let my hand scribble
There’s no perfection there
Just words that want to get out
To be seen only by my eyes
That is my safety
The assurance of that
Keeps my mind still and my hands
My hands create and write
The silliest poems and
The wonkiest of doodles

This is who I am, a creator
And my journal is the fertilizer
The softness that radiates
The introvert peeks out
And plays, protected
From the pages brew
My strength, the fingers
Write a blog post
Or scribble down ideas
Or find a camera,
Sharing moments online
And I can withdraw again
Into my journal’s shell
